Title:Mill Shop Machine Operator (CNC)
Location:Columbus Office
This role is focused on producing cabinetry parts using computer numerical control (CNC) machine, edgebander, and panel saw along with other Mill Shop tools/machines.
This position reports directly to the Mill Shop Supervisor and may be given direction from Mill Shop Manager.  Closely interacts and works with other trade persons.

In addition to following Corna Kokosing’s values, policies and procedures, the primary responsibilities of this position currently include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and building plans for information required to perform assigned tasks
  • Prepare layout using rule, framing square, and calipers
  • Stock inventory, anticipate needed stock, and verify receipt of stock from suppliers
  • Set-up, run and daily maintenance of CNC machine, edgebander, and panel saw
  • Use of sander, planer, table saw, jointer, shaper, and pocket hole machine to produce required parts
  • Prep cabinetry parts including pre-laminating, edging and filing
  • Load and feed machines using vacuum lift or by hand
  • Mark cutting and assembly lines on materials to prescribed measurements using saws, chisels, and planes
  • High School diploma or GED preferred
  • Completion of an apprenticeship program or an equivalent 4-6 years of carpentry experience is required
  • CNC machine experience is required
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record                
  • Must be able to coordinate the movements of eyes, hands, and fingers.
  • Must be able to climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolding.
  • Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at heights as required.
  • Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally more.
  • Must be able to use arms and hands to reach for, handle, and manipulate objects.
  • Must be able to follow specific directions.
  • Must be able stand or walk for long periods.
  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, percentages, and fractions.
  • Must be able to read and understand measuring tools and levels.
  • Must be able to compare and see differences in the size, shape, and form of lines, figures, and objects.
